Who Carried the Weight in 2008

Looking back at one of the most exciting and tumultuous years in the tanker market, it is interesting to see which charterers maintained their place among the ranks of top spot charterers and who were newcomers to the list.  Sales of refineries, increases in either term or contract coverage – or both, or changes in crude oil supplies can significantly alter year-to-year comparisons between vessel classes, top charterers and the number of reported spot market fixtures.
