Tanzania Strikes Hike Prospects For East Africa LNG

Ophir Energy and BG Group continue to strike gas in Tanzania, boosting already promising prospects for a liquefaction project in East Africa. This month’s Chaza-1 wildcat success is the third deepwater gas find off Tanzania, following Pweza-1 and Chewa-1. With one eye on lucrative East African LNG potential, BG took a 60% stake in Ophir’s Tanzanian operations last June and the two companies are now openly pushing an export scheme. Download here
