Seatrade: Soaring US Crude Output Transforms Tanker Trades
“Surging US oil production is generating increased product tanker demand because self-imposed export restrictions prevent the export of crude – except for limited quantities to Canada. US refineries are operating at full tilt, therefore, and export volumes of products have risen sharply, according to New York broker Poten & Partners. New demand has been created on routes from the US Gulf to Central America, South America and West Africa, the broker reports in a recent market report.”
