Nigeria to Pick Firms for Train 1-3 Talks as Train 7 Progresses Further

Nigeria LNG plans to decide no later than October which of 22 interested buyers it will negotiate with for sales and purchase agreements (SPA) covering trains 1-3 offtake that will be available when existing contracts expire beginning in 2021.
Bidders for 9.6 MMt/y of supply from the fully amortized trains expected an NLNG board meeting on Sept. 20 at Gastech in Barcelona to shed light on which companies might make the cut. At the meeting, NLNG’s board also weighed financing options for the planned $7-billion train 7 expansion as well as the previously undisclosed additional $1.6 billion needed to develop train 7’s upstream supply.
