Natural Gas Intelligence: Investment Boom Nears as U.S. LNG Projects Race Toward FID

Poten’s Jason Feer, global head of business intelligence, told NGI that he expects up to three U.S. LNG projects to be sanctioned in 2023 alone. It takes roughly three to five years to build large LNG facilities. All of the U.S. projects leading the pack are aiming to start operations in 2026 or 2027, which would necessitate an FID this year or next.
