India Comes Clean
The opening of new refineries, and capacity additions at older refineries, has made India a net exporter of clean products; they were net importers as recently as 2003. Product tanker markets have benefited from this buildup as increased exports have helped to improve ton-mile demand for product tankers both discharging and loading in South Asia.
