Fairplay: Poten Plays Down Sanctions Against Iran
“Poten & Partners predicted that Iran’s fuel oil exports would be affected only minimally, as the US had already barred oil and fuel oil imports from Iran, whose domestic demand for electricity has resulted more of its fuel oil being reserved to generate power at home. Over 2010-11, Iran exported 3M tonnes of fuel oil, down from 3.7M tonnes in 2010, Poten noted. Shipments to Singapore remained unchanged at 1.28M tonnes, but shipments to the Far East surged 300% to 960,000 tonnes.”
