One of the more succinct summaries of 2007 could be stated as “December was a good year for the tanker market.” But oil moves 12 months a year and it still takes considerable effort to charter ships. As the graph below highlights, with the exception of Aframaxes, 2007 reported dirty spot market fixture activity was quite similar to 2006.
