Building New-clear Energy
While worldwide crude oil demand remains near record levels driven by increased economic activity, the overall energy demand mix that is projected to emerge is perhaps unexpected. Though crude oil was once a primary source of all energy, changes in the market, especially higher prices for crude, have made alternatives commercially viable in certain capacities. For example, natural gas has competed with petroleum for use in residential heating and industry. Most surprising may be the recent development of nuclear energy as a viable growing alternative. This has been driven by some noteworthy technological advancements and their implementation in many parts of the world. While the increasing use of non-petroleum energy sources is a reality in the United States, a paradigm shift away from oil on a worldwide scale is however highly unlikely in the foreseeable future.
