  • U.S. markets wound down late in the week for the long Labor Day Holiday weekend.
  • East Coast asphalt rack prices eased in some areas, while flux retail pricing was steady.
  • Asphalt and flux barge assessments on the East Coast were all lower for the week.
  • Midwest wholesale markets dropped sharply for asphalt, but only slipped modestly for roofing flux, with plenty of sales activity for September supply.
  • Midwest rack selling price assessments were mostly flat for this last week of August.
  • Gulf Coast rack asphalt pricing is steady, with flux retail pricing easing in much of the region this week.
  • Gulf Coast asphalt barge price range narrowed, with asphalt rail and flux barge pricing steady.
  • In the Rockies region, retail market selling prices were steady for the remaining August material.
  • Rocky Mountain wholesale prices stabilized for September supply in the upper part of last week’s range on limited sales. However, coker outages remain a concern in that market.
  • In the West Coast, both Pacific Northwest and California locations had flat prices this week.
  • Western Canada retail prices were flat, with wholesale markets declining for September volumes.
  • Quebec markets were lower this week. Meanwhile, Ontario prices remained unchanged.
  • Oil prices eased lower for all benchmark grades versus the previous Friday close.
