Lloyd’s List: Ethanol Plan will Benefit Clean and Dirty Trades’
“Referring to Poten’s weekly tanker opinion, Tony Gray reported that “the implementation of President Bush’s ethanol fuel programme to reduce US dependence on gasoline produced from imported oil could create opportunities in both the clean and dirty tanker trades, according to Poten & Partners, a leading New York-based shipbroker. Mr Bush’s recent State of the Union address called for an increase in the already mandated blending of nearly 500,000 barrels per day of ethanol into gasoline by 2012 to 2.2m bpd by 2017.”
