Lloyd’s List: Why the Glass is Half Empty

“Tony Gray of Lloyd’s List highlighted the market outlook for LPG shipping. “But supply and demand fundamentals seem likely to re-assert themselves in favour of charterers once more in the not-too-distant future. The recent strength of the VLGC freight market has not persuaded Poten & Partners, the New York shipbroker with a strong reputation in gas shipping, to alter its view that an oversupply in this segment will probably persist up until 2010, and even that is subject to the start-up of LPG projects around the world.”
