LNG: Cold Spell Raises UK Infrastructure Concerns
In recent years as the European Union debated ways to decrease its dependence on Russian pipeline supplies, the UK’s own North Sea production allowed it to stay largely on the sidelines even as its fields went into decline and its imports rose. However, the cold snap that hit the country earlier this month has raised concerns
about the adequacy of the UK’s gas supply infrastructure and may have acted as a wake up call to bring energy security back to the front of national agenda.
