Bloomberg: Mitsui O.S.K, Maersk to Control 12% of Tankers

“Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd., A.P. Moeller-Maersk AS and other shipowners will control about 12 percent of supertankers under their plan to jointly operate the fleet, said Poten & Partners, a New York-based consultant. The pool of 50 very large crude carriers, also backed by Samco Shipholding Pte, Ocean Tankers (Pte) Holdings Ltd. and Phoenix Tankers Pte, will start Feb. 1, Mitsui said in a Dec. 6 statement. It will surpass one run by Tankers International LLC as the industry’s biggest, Poten said in report sent by e-mail Dec. 9.”
