Naphtha Seeks Tonnage For Voyages to Exotic Places
Naphtha, unlike other clean petroleum products, has no retail market of any significance. No one buys a truckload to heat his house or a tankful to power his automobile. Until a few years ago, someone in your neighborhood might have bought a few tons at a time to fuel his F-16. But those days have gone. Now, all the fighter jets, even consumer models, burn kerosene. Only refiners, petrochemical companies, and the occasional power station or fertilizer plant want naphtha today. They don’t buy their supply at a filling station. They usually get it delivered by ship.
