API The Golden Year

Since 1956, industry experts have been gathering biennially for the API Tanker Conference. This year’s conference entitled, “Natural Disaster Response and Recovery” featured several well-appointed panels. This topic is especially fitting as many shipping, refining and oil companies were devastated in last year’s hurricane season and the 2006 hurricane season has just begun. Several panelists discussed their unique accounts of life post- hurricane, and their efforts for ensuring preparedness against other crises in the future. The conference was a time to hear stories of perseverance through one of the nations most destructive natural occurrences, network and meet people.
