TradeWinds: Chinese buyers of US LNG looking at long-term structures to offload their volumes

April 16, 2025 Chinese buyers of US LNG are investigating ways of offloading their contracted volumes on a long-term basis, according to broker Poten & Partners. Speaking on a webinar, Poten LNG business analyst Irwin Yeo said the US tariffs have rattled all companies in Asia and they are looking at options to circumvent the trade measures. Singapore-based Yeo said many are asking if the tariffs are temporary or the beginning of something more permanent.
