In the first half of September, LNG export volumes appear to be slightly higher than they were in August. This is good as demand for LNG is expected to surge in the coming months as the weather cools down. Demand in Asia has been extremely strong for the entire year, with the region buying product away from Europe whose storage levels remain extremely low headed into the winter. As demand surges, supply, especially from the US, will surge to meet the requirements. One of the questions facing the market is just how much additional LNG the US can produce this winter given the strong performance seen throughout 2021.
